n-tech Outlook on Smart Anti-Corrosives Coatings Markets Sees 2.7 billion in 2030, a CAGR 20.8%

In its latest release, n-tech Research expects the Smart Anti-corrosive Coatings Market to grow at a CAGR of nearly 29% through the year 2030 via their use in the Aerospace, Automotive, Energy, and Marine Sectors.

Driver:

The global cost of corrosion is estimated to be US$2.5 trillion annually, which is equivalent to approximately 3.4% of the global GDP . (NACE.org))  There are claims that improved anti-corrosion practices could possibly offer  global savings of between 15-35% of the cost of damage, or between $375-875 billion annually.   While NACE offers a significant spread on costs, the economic benefits or anti-corrosion are nonetheless significant.

Corrosion impacts structures, vehicles and other capital equipment.  It produces direct and indirect costs that impact the profitable operations of industries as well as create situations that run afoul of regulatory agencies in the form of pollution, contamination, carbon release, etc.  Corrosion related decay, when taken to extremes, can result in extreme outcomes.

Prevention strategies vary but the more proactive the approach, the better the outcome for stakeholders.  Smart anti-corrosive coatings play an important role in active prevention with their means to detect the presence or agents and react to or report the existence of rust.

The use cases across their industry applications point to companies navigating between the priorities of maintaining uptimes, damage and loss prevention, and remaining in compliance with environmental and safety regulations.

Manufacturing approaches, application processes, and materials science will continue to advance, with new and better additives being required to meet harsh environmental challenges.

Industry Demand
(millions $)

Aerospace $25.09
Automotive $355.75
Energy $221.01
Marine $272.91
Total $874.75
